Dmytro Kabakchei

Game designer

Hey There!

I am a third-year Game Development student with hands-on experience gained through both academic projects and professional internships. Throughout my studies, I have participated in multiple team-based projects, taking on roles such as game designer and team lead, which allowed me to develop strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.

In addition to game design, I also work with game audio, including music composition and sound design, and have experience implementing audio systems directly into games. I am highly motivated to continue developing my skills, particularly in the technical and production aspects of game development. I am seeking opportunities that will allow me to further expand my competencies and gain practical experience within the industry.

My Career so far

Over the past years, I have worked on a wide range of academic, independent game projects, taking on roles such as game designer, narrative designer, team lead, and audio designer. During my internship at Medway Games, I worked as an audio designer on Just a Die, creating audio for promotional materials and in-game content.

Alongside this, I developed sound design and music for my diploma project, Do You Know the Man with the Umbrella?, focusing on atmosphere-driven audio, character presence, and gameplay-responsive sound systems. My experience spans both creative and technical aspects of development — from narrative design, mechanics, and economy planning to music composition, sound effect creation, and FMOD-based audio implementation in Unity.

My key projects include Dead of Night (pixel-art horror), Carry On, Sir (narrative-driven simulation), Toadally Lost in Time (a post-human world ruled by intelligent frogs), as well as Just a Die. These projects have shaped me into a multidisciplinary and production-oriented creator, capable of confidently taking ideas from concept to a polished, playable experience.
